How To Determine If Your Brakes Need Maintenance

Here at Brakes On The Go NJ, we are serious about the importance of brake maintenance. There are several factors that can go into when exactly you should replace your existing brake pads. But no matter when that may be, when the time comes, we have you covered.

Brakes On The Go NJ provides a process that is as simple as scheduling an appointment, letting us come to you, and replacing your brakes on the spot and quick, so that you are ready to go without even having to break a sweat or get your car to an auto repair shop.

Some helpful tips to remember when determining if your brakes require maintenance are:

Most brake pads need to be replaced between 50,000 – 70,000 miles. Some may even only last 25,000 miles. With this in mind, it helps to keep a tab on your car’s current mileage and consult your owner’s manual for more detailed information so that you can keep up to date on the condition of your car’s brake pads.

Suppose you can’t get a clear gauge on how many miles you have used your brake pads for? You can do a manual check for wear and tear by looking at your brake pads through the spaces between the spokes in your wheel. The outer pad should be up against the metal rotor and you should see one-fourth of an inch of the pad. If the pad is thinner than that, you should get it replaced as soon as possible.

If your brake pads are starting to go, you should be able to hear a high pitched screeching sound when you press your foot on the brake. The noise may be faint, but regardless, this is one of the clearer signs that you should get your brakes replaced.

Now that you know how to spot when your brakes need to be replaced, the next time you experience any of these warning signs, be sure to contact us at Brakes On The Go NJ and we’ll be there same-day to replace your brakes and get you on your way.

New Jersey Brake Repair and Replacement For Uber & Lyft Drivers

Do you run a business that involves daily driving across the state of New Jersey? In 2018, more people than ever are using car services like Uber and Lyft. On top of all of the people using those services, every day new people are putting their own vehicles on the line and registering them for use as these services.

While this has been a huge boon to the car service industry, it can come with its share of concerns. One of the main ones being, what happens if you need to get your brakes repaired on a moment’s notice?

If you use your own vehicle as, say, an Uber; you would normally need to take time out of driving to get your car to a mechanic, wait around, pay any hidden fees, then by the time you are able to get back on the road, you have already wasted an entire day or two that you could have been picking up customers. That’s money right out of your pocket.

But with Brakes On The Go NJ, we will come directly to you, wherever you are in New Jersey. We are based out of a central location in Freehold and can meet you anywhere up and down the state of NJ with ease.*

We also offer a 24,000 mile, two-year warranty on all of the work that we do and the parts that we provide.

So give us a call at 732-462-8800 and let us help you get back on the road when it counts the most.

Please Note: Always make sure to check local regulations and billing details with owner/operators before contacting Brakes On The Go NJ, as different car services may have varying guidelines regarding billing expenses.
